What to Look for in an MP3 Player
The market for MP3 players has absolutely exploded. There are countless brands and numerous models available at every electronics store. With all of these different players, it may be hard to see which player is right for you. Here are some tips that may help you choose.
Dependability
When choosing an MP3 player, make sure to get one that has great reviews and does not suffer from any software/hardware malfunctions. An easy way to check is to go to online stores like ebay or amazon and read the user reviews on the product. Sticking with the top companies like apple, creative, or microsoft is usually a safe bet. Picking players made by Disney might not be something you will be interested in.
Functionality
Some people like a player that can play not only music, but access radio, play videos, and be able to store photos. Not all MP3 players can do all of these things. Make sure to read what the MP3 player can do before you get disappointed.
Storage
Do you plan on using your MP3 player to store a lot of music or other files? If so, then obviously you will require a device that can hold over 60 gigs of data. If you plan on only using the player every once in awhile then it might be a better idea to stay with a smaller device. Save yourself the money.
Ponder its Use
One of the most important question that needs to be answered is what exactly the MP3 player will be used for? Sitting back in your room listening to tunes or using it as a distraction while you run 5 miles through central park. If you’re going to be bouncing around with your MP3 player then it might be a good idea to get a player that is flash based and not hard drive based. A MP3 player that uses a hard drive as storage may skip or become damaged from all the movement while a flash based MP3 player has no movable parts making it ideal for physical activity. Keep in mind that hard drive based MP3 players can be argued to be just as well off as flash based players.
